Komeda’s Coffee Heads to Bangkok—with a Taste of Thailand

The Japanese café chain’s first Thai location opens on Monday, November 16, 2026, with familiar dishes, local coffee beans and Thai tea.

Komeda’s Coffee (コメダ珈琲店) is taking its invitation to linger to Bangkok. On Monday, November 16, 2026, the Japanese chain will open its first Thai café, Komeda’s Coffee Asoke Exchange Tower (コメダ珈琲店 Asoke Exchange Tower店), near BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit stations.

Komeda’s Coffee Heads to Bangkok

Founded in Nagoya in 1968, Komeda has a straightforward introduction for the uninitiated: Shiro-Noir (シロノワール), a warm Danish pastry crowned with cold soft-serve ice cream. Coffee may bring you through the door. Dessert gives you a reason to stay.

Familiar Favorites, Local Ingredients

The Bangkok menu will feature sandwiches, cutlet sandwiches and Mini Shiro-Noir (ミニシロノワール). The chain’s morning service is also planned for customers ordering a drink before 11 a.m.

But the café will take some cues from its new home. Thai timber will feature in the interior, Thai-grown arabica will go into the full-bodied coffee blend, and Thai tea will have a place on the menu. The common thread is kutsurogi (くつろぎ): the ease of settling in and making yourself comfortable.

A Japanese Coffee Break, Across Asia

Komeda’s overseas expansion began in Shanghai in April 2016. Taipei followed in February 2018, then Hong Kong in October 2022, with a café at AEON Style Whampoa. In January 2023, the brand reached Indonesia, opening in Bali.

Thailand will become the fifth overseas market for Komeda’s Coffee, adding another Southeast Asian destination to a network that already spans Taiwan, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Indonesia.

Its parent company’s reach is wider. In Singapore, the group operates other brands, including Kaffe & Toast and Saap Saap Thai.

Bangkok, Doors Open at Nine
